Our boats
Kievits Veerdiensten hosts three cable-free ferryboats equipped with loading platforms. This allows the captain to moor along beaches and ferry terminals alike.
The Heen & Weer V is a front-loader built in 1995 that meets all requirements and standards to guarantee safe and smooth sailing.
The Halve Maan, constructed in the 50’s, was originally used as a small cocoa tanker and fulfilled years of service in the Zaanstreek region. Brought to Millingen aan de Rijn in the 90’s, the vessel was converted into a ferryboat for the Millingerwaard – Doornenburg ferry connection. In 2004, the ferry underwent yet another transformation to raise the wheelhouse and replace the old manual helm with a modern hydraulic helm.
Both boats can host up to 50 passengers with bicycles.
In July of 2012, we added the new Rhenus Vahalis ferry to our fleet. This large ferryboat has a wheelhouse based on two columns to accommodate a larger deck area for a maximum capacity of 130 passengers. The boat was built in accordance with European safety regulations for passenger ship transportation.
All ferries are suitable for use in ferry services or for private river cruise rentals.
